Pluto is an upcoming Japanese Netflix Original sci-fi anime feature film and adaptation of the manga of the same name by authors Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki. This is the first time that Pluto has been adapted into an anime, almost fourteen years after its manga run came to an end.
Pluto's release date has yet to be announced by Netflix as of this writing. However, the streaming site has produced a trailer for the anime. Pluto will be presented between 11:20-11:50 AM JST in anime Japan 2023, which means we could get a release date reveal towards the end of March 2023.
The iconic Swiss robot Montblanc, famous for his military service in the 39th Asian War, is brutally slain. Humans and robots all over the world are mourning the loss of the adored celebrity. Montblanc's reputation expanded in the years after the war as a result of his dedication to wildlife protection and his warm personality. Gesicht, a robotic Europol detective who was formerly a fellow war veteran, is sent to investigate Montblanc's terrible death. Gesicht discovers proof of a mysterious entity known only as "Pluto" throughout his investigation. He also learns of a plot to destroy the eight specialist robots from around the world that took part in the conflict. Gesicht struggles with his memory, morals, and a world full of hate as he races against time to save those who remain.
Gesicht's voice is provided by Shinshuu Fuji. Fans of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure will recognise him as the voice of Risotto Nero. Fans of the Seven Deadly Sins will recognise him as Chandler's voice. Atom is voiced by Youko Hikasa. Hikasa is most known for his roles in the anime series Highschool DxD as Rias Gremory and as Mio Akiyama in the K-On!! franchise.
